Wayne, the co-founder and director of The Wat Opot Children's Community left for his family's home in the US a few days before I arrived and will be gone another two weeks. He left because his mothers health was failing and she passed away shortly after he made it home. The children here have all been so concerned about Wayne. They know what it's like to lose parents, and worry about their "Pa Wayne." From Michigan, Wayne posted the following entry to the Wat Opot website. I'd like to share it with you. It captures what makes Wat Opot so incredible, and maybe those who don't understand why I wanted to return so bad will after reading his words.
